Free Food Fund

Support a baker, local businesses, and charities

Donations to the Free Food Fund will provide money for me to use towards the purchasing of ingredients which I use to bake and deliver delicious desserts to unexpecting, well deserving local businesses and organizations.

Any money donated during the month that is left over after the purchase of ingredients will be donated to a charity which will change each month. In this way you support my creativity as a baker by providing me with funds to feed my passion for baking while simultaneously bringing smiles to members of the local business community and supporting a renowned charity. It is a win, win, win!

Any donation amount to the Free Food Fund by Paypal or credit/debit card is greatly appreciated!

Charities that have received donations from Free Food Fund:

July 9, 2013 - $50 was donated to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

As promised, the remaining balance in the Free Food Fund at the end of the summer has been donated to a charity. I am proud to say that $67 has been donated to The Food Project thanks to the generous donations to the Free Food Fund.

The Food Project is a nonprofit organization committed to engaging young people in personal and social change through sustainable agriculture. The Food Project runs 40-acres of farm land in the greater Boston area. Food from their farms is distributed through community supported agriculture programs, farmers markets, and given to hunger relief organizations.

During my first week at Boston University this year, I participated in a BU community service project called FYSOP 24 (Hunger) which included working on one of the Food Project’s farms in Boston. It was an eye-opening experience and I couldn’t be happier to donate the Free Food Project’s surplus funds to this outstanding organization.

My thanks to everyone who received my treats and especially to those of you who donated to the Free Food Fund.
